Excesd movers INCOMPETENT.

The most appalling company I have ever dealt with. We moved from the uk to Australia, they are incompetent and cause a lot of damage. They inform you that you have upto 3 months to claim for damages but they don't send you the forms until 6 months later. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Move from UK to NZ.

Please note - No option in Delivery Country for New Zealand.

We still have an issue going back to the beginning of the year(2015) with EIM when our container arrived in NZ from the UK. The EIM staff back in the UK taped up a hole in roof of the container with their own packing tape. No prizes for guessing what happened next. Have all the photographs to prove it. We lost quite a lot of furniture and personal effects through water damage and still suffering. Spent a fortune trying to get clothing, linen laundered or dry cleaned.

They(EIM) are denying any sort of responsibility and we have still not had a penny from them. Even the quality of packing was shocking. Fragile items crushed at the bottom of the container. Also had a lot of issues with the packing and were quite lucky we did not loose some treasured family items. We would advise anyone to steer well clear of this company.

So much for customer service. Court might be the next stop.

Just a small sample of the photos attached.

So avoid EIM and tell your mates too! They operate the baggage units out of the airports too.

International move from London, Greater London to Barcelona, Catalunya

Good Movers HORRIBLE Insurance & Experience.

When moving from London to Puerto Rico I called for quotes from about 5 different companies. It was quite a process. Although there was another more prestigious company  with fantastic reviews, we chose Excess International because after an agent came to our house they said everything could be packed on the street and locked on a shipping container in front of us to ensure security. They were slightly more expensive, but it was this on-site lock service that cinched the deal for us. The other factor was the cost of insurance. With some of the better reviewed companies we were confused regarding the final price of insurance. Having been through a big move before, we knew that this could greatly effect the final cost. We went with Excess even though, worryingly, during correspondence with them they had the move listed on the quote as Bolivia! We were assured this was a simple mistake and because they were so great at corresponding with us, we weren't too bothered. We were also under a time constraint and Michelle and John, the point-people at the office corresponded with us in an extremely timely fashion. On the day of the move the container could not in fact be sealed in front of us. We were concerned because this had been a huge issue for us, so John, the manager who oversaw our move, made sure we were mailed photos of the sealed container when it went back to their facility. The movers were great, the representatives for the company were great. All in all we paid about 5700 GBP around 1300GBP of which was for insurance. When our shipment arrived in Puerto Rico we faced a few hiccups - No one told us our stuff was here, they mistakenly said some of our stuff was missing, and we had to pay extra for moving into a flat with stairs. The movers, again, were great though. Small, predictable headaches aside, the problems we have with this company all stem from the insurance claims process after we found some of our goods were broken. Some of our knick-knacks and glasses were broken, but we just decided to forget about claiming this stuff - it happens. What we did need to claim was our broken stereo and our broken dining room chairs, which are long cantina style benches. We moved in January and it is now October. The claims department is now playing a semantic game with us and telling us that because we claimed them as 'benches' in our inventory but listed them as 'chairs' in our insurance forms, that they won't be paying out our claim for them. They also say they're not responsible for our stereo!! Just becuase it won't turn on they say, it's not their fault. So why the heck did we buy insurance from them?! The stero is making rattling noises and was obviously dropped and won't power on, but they can't be bothered to care. Only point at which they were really great at getting back to us was when they needed us to give them our money. Correspondence with the insurance agent was horrible. He was rude and at one point took a month to reply to me, despite sending follow-up emails. I won't be recommending Excess International to ANY of our friends or colleagues. It's a real shame because all of the movers themselves were great.

International move from London, Greater London to , NSW

Irreplaceable items lost by Exceess International.

I used this company to move to Australia from London in July 2016. Note I am still in contact and it is now May 2017 as I am seeking compensation for my loss. Initially there were 3 boxes missing. I had to continually chase them in order for them to follow up. Initiallas the missing boxes were not boxes that I had insured I was simply offered 40 pounds per box as compensation. This was a way for them to get me to stop chasing them for my property. I had insured other itmes but not the entire consignment. After rejecting the offer and asking them to conduct a search the 3 boxes were found on another container. If I had not chased they would not have done so. Unfortunately there is still a box missing as I have not received all my goods. The box has over 1000 pounds worth of clothes incluing my wedding suit which I paid 550 pounds. This item is something that I cannot replace and has great sentimental value. I subsequently received a letter stating that they have no liability as I agreed to their terms and that they will offer my 40 pounds by way of compensation. I have had to chase and chase and if I had not chased then I doubt I would have received the 3 boxes that were missing. The impression given is that they are lost so the best you can expect is 40 pounds per box. The issue is that there is a box missing still. I cannot recommend a company tthat has just lost my property and that doe not offer appropriate compensation. If they are not liable then who is? I am determined to follow this up until I receive appropriate compensation.

Just the WORST.

Cannot recommend them less. It is just about the worst option you have when moving items from the US to the UK. The staff is almost criminally incompetent. They missed my pick-up twice despite setting up a time well in advance and kept me waiting for hours and then pretended that the driver had actually attempted to pick up items. I then paid a fine to my building to keep items in the apartment (on which the lease had run out) while these goons came a third time to pick up items. They the refused to acknolwedge the errors and pretended my door bell was out of order! Same drama on delivery. Forgot to give me key forms to fill that allows items to move through customs. So my cargo had to sit in the HRMC warehouses for weeks while I was chasing these guys on delivery before one of them thought about informing me of the paperwork. AVOID. at all costs. its not worth the headache to save 100-200 dollars and then deal with this team.

Forgot to mention, one of the boxes was extremely poorly handled and had items missing. Cannot stress enough to avoid this service. They shouldn't be in business.

International move from , ON to Barcelona, Catalunya

WARNING! Do NOT use this company.

We moved from Toronto to Barcelona and have had nothing but issues with them since the beginning.  I have NEVER experienced such abysmal service in all of my life. I would have never chosen this company had I known what I know now and after reading the new reviews that have surfaced over the last couple of months.
They gave us incorrect information when filling out paperwork, which created much more paperwork for us to complete
They gave incorrect dollar amount maximums, so our packages reached Barcelona and were then returned to Canada due to their wrong recommended information.  Their lack of attention to detail, especially with written communication/documentation created many unnecessary issues and an enormous mess for us to clean up
The boxes were supposed to reach us within 7 business days, we received them 30+ days later (Additional costs were involved for this expedited air service)
We wasted time, money (had to purchase dishes, clothing, long distance calls to Excess, DHL), effort to locate these boxes as this company refused to update us/help us locate them
We eventually had to escalate our case to DHL and within Excess numerous times in order for our case to actually be taken seriously and worked on by upper management (My spouse and I spent upwards of 5 hours per day over a month e-mailing and on the phone with Excess and DHL)
Vacation days/time off work were used sitting at home waiting for packages to come that Excess promised would arrive that day and never came
We had to argue with them to get daily updates, as days would go by with no update on the whereabouts of our missing boxes
When boxes finally reached us, because of all of the back and forth and amount of times they were inspected, the contents were broken/damaged/missing (We received only 40 pounds refund for the broken contents)
Excess team lacked serious knowledge in international moving expertise, where we were forced to research and look into matters ourselves
Two months later, after fighting with them consistently for a refund (as they did not provide the service they agreed to), we finally received it.  The Regional Manager actually told us "You will receive the refund next week, as this is when all of the refunds are processed".  This obviously shows how many Customers they have done this to, if there are numerous refund being processed at once.
TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION, UNEDUCATED IN INTERNATIONAL MOVING/LAWS/REGULATIONS
Nick/Waqas/Jason at Excess will waste your time, lie to you and not adhere to any of the promises/timelines that they say they will .
